Christie and Patrick's wedding may be the definition of southern charm and magnificence...
Q. How have you met your fiancé?
A. I met my fiancé/husband in senior high school, but we never dated, we simply had a "thing." Technically, I wasn't permitted to date him because my father thought he was too wild, but everyone matures and we started talking again attending college. We would meet up during the breaks so when we were finally in Jacksonville, we gradually began dating. We were engaged on June 25, 2011! It was this kind of exciting day!
Q. How have you chosen the place for your wedding? What type of venue had you been looking for?
A. I was searching for a southern venue that had characteristics of old Florida! Patrick and I are extremely laid back and I wanted a relaxed, comfortable wedding. I knew that people would have many children there and that we both have lots of families. Having the indoor/outdoor reception was ideal for my guests!
Q. What was your preferred part of your day?
A. This is a hard question and I genuinely have not considered that so far, but I think it might have to be as soon as I saw Patrick. I'm sure all brides feel this way, however, it was indescribable. There was another moment when Patrick and I were waiting in front of our bridal party and I turned to look at them. That was an attractive sight - being surrounded by our 5 brothers, our cousins, and our finest friends. I felt overwhelmed to possess such a sweet support system willing and excited to face us on our big day. Oh and also the last dance when everybody else was preparing for the exit. It was just us and also the band and also the dance floor. I would encourage all brides to do that. I'll always remember how quiet and sweet it was.
Q. Where did you get your wedding dresses?
A. I purchased my lace wedding dress at feeltimes.com.
Q. What advice have you got for other brides?
A. Relax. It is only each day and it flies by. Go with your instinct. Patrick thought a few things I planned were just a little corny plus they ended up being a few of the highlights of his day. Most importantly, the marriage is this type of wonderful experience, but simply remember that you're working towards a contented marriage. I tried to help keep that my main priority. At the end of your day, I knew it had not been as much in regards to a wedding because it was about me taking home a husband and which was the most perfect part.
