We talked to Diablo 4 Director Joe Shely and general manager of the Diablo franchise Rod Fergusson about the current situation of Diablo and what their goals will be for Diablo 4. along with what the game has been developed to fulfill them.
This is a major time for Diablo. You've got the launch of Immortal and now you've shown off the first part of Diablo 4. Rod as the overseer over the Diablo franchise can you give us a temperature check on the franchise? Where is it located and where do you think it is required to be?
Rod Fergusson: I think it's never been a more exciting time to be a Diablo fan or Diablo player. There's Diablo available to play out for 10 years now but even during its most recent season, Season 26. There are over 150 million hours played.
In reality, we've just reached over 65 million players that played Diablo. This month, we had Diablo 2: Resurrected come back, and over five and a half million players returned to play D2:R. It's a 21-year-old hardcore PC game that has cheap D2R Ladder Items now been remastered and is now available on console too.
