Last month, 2K’s NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition was revealed for Apple Arcade. At the time, I wasn’t sure what that meant for NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition, but that game remains available. Today, NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition has finally released worldwide. If you don’t see it yet, it is likely rolling out for you soon.
NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition was a surprise to me because I figured NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition would just be updated, but it is a brand new game on Apple Arcade. It features the updated 2022 NBA rosters, online multiplayer mode, MyCareer, MyCourt, and a lot more including exclusive Apple Arcade modes like Association Mode and MyCOURT.
In the all-new The Association mode, players can be the GM or Head Coach of their favorite NBA Franchises and build their own NBA dream teams, while in MyCOURT, players can level up stats with special drills in a custom court tailored to their individual athletes. Fans can also compete head-to-head with a friend in Online Multiplayer mode, play 3v3 street basketball in Blacktop mode, start a personal NBA journey in MyCAREER mode or jump into Quick Match featuring the latest 2021-22 NBA rosters.
Playable across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition will be available on Apple Arcade on October 19 for a monthly subscription of $4.99 with a one-month free trial.
The game is the follow-up to last year’s NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition, which similarly brought 2K’s basketball experience to mobile devices. It’s worth noting, there is also an NBA 2K22 mobile app available which is a companion to the console game and doesn’t involve actual game modes.
NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition download is currently available through the App Store, at the link here. The mobile game is available for not only iPhone or iPad with iOS 13.0 or later, but also the iPod touch. In addition, it is available for Apple TV with tvOS 13.0 or later, and Mac computers with macOS 11.0 or later.
