Twitch streamer questi0n_markss has the patience to rival Primeval Sorcerer Azur
Elden Ring Runes players have gotten terrifyingly proficient at killing bosses as soon as possible. Just days ago, one Tarnished slayed Malenia in only 15 seconds on NG+7. But Twitch streamer questi0n_markss(opens in new tab) isn't thinking about fast boss kills. With the patience of the saint, they have been defining Elden Ring's anti-speedrun leaderboards by killing bosses with absurd limitations like dealing one damage at any given time, with fights lasting up to five to seven hours for just one attempt.
Questi0n_markss continues to be tackling ridiculous Elden Ring boss runs for some time – they bare-fisted their way with the game eight months ago(opens in new tab) – but I didn't discover their exploits until I saw their recent post about killing Morgott in eight-and-a-half hours while doing only one damage per hit. It turns out this fight actually took them nearer to seven hours – and you will watch the large finish around 4:17:30 within this Twitch VOD(opens in new tab), filled with the mandatory "let's freaking go" – but that is still an unfathomable effort to... basically anyone.
Morgoth is only one of the numerous bosses they've defeated by doing this, but he's a great demonstration of how intensive this concern is. According to the Elden Ring wiki, Morgott, the Omen King has 10,399 HP, so you'd need to hit him that lots of times if you are only dealing one damage. How do you deal exactly one damage? By equipping just one piece of the Briar Armor set and rolling straight into an enemy – 10,000 times.
Apart from sheer endurance, this concern also demands near-perfect knowledge of the boss's move set. To survive against Morgott for seven hours straight, questi0n_markss used stamina-replenishing what to make sure these were always in a position to dodge. They also counterbalance the health loss from some inevitable blows with spells like Bestial Vitality, which slowly regens your well-being over time. But even so, they're always only one slip-up from losing hours of progress.
This has to be the most brutal and extreme Elden Ring challenge I've ever seen someone complete, so my first question for questi0n_markss was what I imagine many people would ask: why? Why do this?
"Well for me personally it’s fairly simple," they are saying. "But for other people, I can comprehend the confusion. My goal is to push the sport as far as I am able to."
I can comprehend the appeal of one-hitting bosses or killing them very fast. I can begin to see the fun for the reason that. But could it be fun dealing one damage for hours at any given time?
"Honestly? Kind of," questi0n_markss says. "Being a really small streamer makes performing these things feel more worthwhile in the chance it’ll draw some attention. Luckily I have some viewers so these were there to speak and support me. So I’d say so."
"I didn’t get it done straight," I was told of Morgott's seven-hour run. "I took about 2 20-minute breaks then just did five hours with no break because I just thought about being done."
Casually, they include that "I also intend on doing the entire game [by doing this]." They reckon that will require them 150 to 200 hours – that is apparently "not bad."
