Starting on the heels of PS5 games, NBA 2K23 was the most-downloaded game on the PSN during September North America, while FIFA 23 Coins was the top game available in Europe (which is not a surprise considering how popular football is in that region). Another September new release, The Last of Us Part 1 was ranked 3rd in both regions.

Moving to PS4, NBA 2K23 was one of the games that was downloaded the most during the month across the US and Canada, while FIFA 23 came in at the top spot in Europe. Regarding PSVR Games, Beat Saber was the number. #1 game both in North America and Europe, with Job Simulator and Superhot VR being ranked second and third in both regions.

Free-to-play games on PS5 and PS4 combined, Fortnite was the most-downloaded game in the US and Canada, while Rumbleverse was the most-played free-toplay game in Europe.

Sony has ambitious plans for its next generation of virtual reality hardware, as it plans for 2 million devices of its PSVR 2 headset ready by March of next year.

The mass production of the VR headset was reported to have begun on September 1st (via Bloomberg) and has not yet encountered shortages in the supply chain. With the PS5 remaining in high demand due to its lack of availability after its release in November of 2020, Sony also plans to keep more consoles on shelves in the first quarter of 2023 according to Bloomberg's sources.

PSVR 2 is yet to receive a date beyond 2023. Sony is working to ensure that there's enough PS5 consoles to play games with the brand new headset. The device will only work on PS5 and won't be compatible with backwards-compatible PSVR games.

What we do know about the hardware is that they have some beastly specifications. Similar to its predecessor, the PS5 in addition to its cheapest FUT 23 Coins DualSense controller Sony added haptic feedback, adjustable triggers inside-out tracking, eye-tracking, in addition to 3D stereo into the system, which hasn't yet received an estimated retail price.
