Before diving too deep to this NBA 2K23 guide, we'd recommend you to spend some time in training mode 2KU and tinkering with MT 2K23 options that will work for you. Here, we've compiled some suggestions to help get you started.NBA 2K23 comes with a variety of different camera options for you to explore however, you can't outdo the tried-and-true 2K as a camera option, according to us.

It puts you behind that offensive group, a little more or less like Madden NFL, allowing you to take a comprehensive view of the floor and pinpoint any wide-open lanes or teammates. We also believe this view to be best on defense as it gives you an accurate view of the player in your defense and all movement that's happening around you. Of course, you can alter the zoom or height to get a more rounded perspective, and you can reduce motion blur in the Settings if you find that affects your timing.

A brand new feature in NBA 2K23 allows you to decide the speed at which the shot meter displays, provided you enable it. There are four options available in Controller Settings The options are Very Early, Early, Late as well as Very Late. While playing around with this option won't alter the animations of your jump shots it will affect the speed at which the meter appears. Personally, we prefer it to be Very Early.

The meter will appear within a few seconds of pressing the button, and provides you with a few extra milliseconds to adjust your release time, but if you feel you're consistently undercooking shots, you might prefer the time of release to be Late or somewhere in between. The best way to find the one that works best for you is practice with your favorite players from 2KU.

By default, the Defensive Assist Strength will default to 50 within the controller Settings. This feature tries to predict the direction of your adversaries that you are guarding, however, we're not convinced that it's too agresiv at times. You can turn this off entirely if you trust your own capabilities with the sticks, but we'd suggest keeping it on for a some, so that you have some magnetic attraction to help you stay in front of rivals. Spend some time with 2KU to find out what works for you and we think between 25 and 25 is the sweet point.

There's nothing more frustrating about NBA 2K23 than seeing a large-open teammate, and then accidentally passing at the wrong player. However, with Controller Settings, you can modify how you want to adjust the Pass Target Profile. This is based on three different parameters: Pass Target Direction, Pass Target Distance, and Pass Target Openness.

There's a profile that weighs the passing of a tick more towards openness as opposed to the default setting and we believe this is the best choice, though you can tweak it further and figure out what does the best job for you. Be aware that you can lead another team member into space by holding the Circle or Buy 2K MT pressing the button. If you select Full Receiver Control in the Receiver Control option you'll actually be able, manually, to reposition your teammate, while holding that button.
